Adrenal gland sits on top of the kidneys and is made up by two regions: adrenal cortex outer glandular region and Adrenal medullar inner natural tissue region.

Adrenal cortex
  • Glucocorticoids (GC)
  • Mineralocorticoids

Hormone actions 

Epinephrine & Norephrine - Raises blood glucose level, increases rate of metabolism and constrict certain blood vessels.

GC- Increases blood glucose

Mineralocorticoids- Promotes reabsorption of Na+ and extraction of K+ in kidneys.
